Berättelser från de inställda upprorens tid is a collection of short stories about Mrs. Meckel and her brown diary from 1938 and about Mr. Bachmann, who tried to shoot Rudi Dutschke, ideological spokesman for the German Socialist Student League. And about other people who almost seem to be siblings of Mrs Meckel: ”friendly, faithful souls, loyal to their oppressors while having a vague and unclear feeling of being deceived. They lived in the time of cancelled revolts and saw no way out.”
